Transport yourself to heat-infused days where the sun feels hotter and home for the summer is none other than a faraway beach! The layers fall away until all that’s left is our board and our favourite bikini – and that’s just the way we like it. This summer, soak up the flavor of Afro-Caribbean roots or opt for retro gingham vibes, all we need to do is have fun as we glide over glassy waves and feel the sunset glow against our skin. #ABikiniKindaLife

Q & A WITH BILLABONG WOMENS DESIGNER, ISABELLE WEPPE

Is the high-leg one piece a big trend this summer?
Yes, it’s super trendy. With the throwback to 80s, the bikinis are high, indented and cheeky. At Billabong, we think the high-leg one piece is an essential item – easy to wear at the beach, but also as a body with your shorts. And when it’s a sporty shape, you can even use it to go surfing. From retro surf graphics and neon colours (New Wave collection), to big logos (Legacy collection), or lace and crochet details, asymmetric shoulders and irresistible prints (Main collection), the options have never been so wide.

What bikini trends are incorporated into Billabong’s summer collection?
The line is fresh, feminine, retro and athletic. Expect innovative textures and shiny fabrics on solid colours, unexpected colours with earthy shades, dusty hues and cool tones. Details like knots, ruffles, asymmetric shapes and floral patterns are still on trend for Billabong.

Which one would you pack for a party and surf weekend in Brazil?
Just one? That’s impossible! My favourites are the Tanlines One Shoulder with the Tanlines Hike. The nude colour is so trendy and the asymmetrical shape is super modern. Also the Love Bound one piece, for the colour and the ribbed shiny fabric. And lastly, the Sun Tribe Crop Tank Bikini Top and Isla Bottom to surf!
