A new environmental film by surfer Chris Malloy and Woodshed Films called 180 South will be shown in Wales at this weekend as a fundraiser for SAS.
more→Surfers Against Sewage went to London last week to collect the Coast award for the Best Marine Project which highlighted the success we’ve had with Operation Clean Sweep. SAS have been campaigning for years to try and reduce the number of those little plastic pellets known as mermaids tears from washing into the sea from the factories, so the award from Coast was very welcome. read on to find out more.

SAS are on the warpath! Six water companies are today at an appeal hearing over the disgusting state of combined sewer overflows, an issue SAS brought to light with a Panorama documentary. They’ve had 20 years to sort these horrible drains out ‚ÄSAS aim to make sure that the Environment Agency lets them know this is not on.

Lundy Island, one of England’s most spectacular marine habitats, has today become England’s first Marine Conservation Zone (MCZ). Its new status establishes it as the first example of the new approach to marine protection being taken under the Marine and Coastal Access Act, which will contribute towards the creation of the network of ecologically coherent and well-managed marine protected areas by 2012.
