Flips, Spins and Trampolines – Jenny Jones
http://www.billabong.com/girls/eu/blog-post/426/flips-spins-and-trampolines
I am now in Frisco, US staying with a few fellow slopestyle riders from Europe and the GB halfpipe team.

Last week we went riding at Keystone, Colorado as they have already built the park with some good medium jumps and tons of rails and boxes.

But this week the weather has been cold, windy and only light snowfall so we’ve just stuck to playing on the boxes and decided to spend the afternoons checking out Woodward at Copper.

Woodward is an indoor centre with trampolines, foam pits, soft mats, sprung floors and a dendex jump into a foam pit, all aimed at helping you to progress your tricks – and for playing around like a 10 year-old again. We had soooooooo much fun trying flips and spins on the trampolines and off the dendex jump. I can’t wait to go back. But it looks like we might get some powder tomorrow if we’re lucky.

Some of the guys have the Grand Prix FIS halfpipe comp coming up this week at Copper Mountain so good luck to Kate, Lesley, Dom and Ben.

The following week is the DEW tour in Breckenridge which will be my first slopestyle contest of the season.

Cheers
Jenny

Christmas and New year at Wainui – L?©a Brassy

I wish everyone an awesome year 2010. I hope you will make your dreams happen and follow your heart. I wish we will be closer to Nature and we will respect her more and better. I wish everyone to be really happy and for a start may that simple sentence inspire you: “Freedom is living each moment spontaneously” Hannah Bailly.

I’m now back in Gisborne where I spent Christmas and New year with my friends at Wainui. Summer is definitely around, weather is warm and dry and the ocean is quiet. Everybody shows a smiley face and seems to enjoy the life. Spending Christmas in the warmth is a random experience and as it does not really feel like Christmas, I don’t miss home too much. Habits change but similar things happen, such as presents and great meals with the whole family. This time of the year is dedicated to party! Everyone is on holiday and spends the most of it at the beach. Lots of music festivals happen all over New Zealand and Rhythm & Vines, in Gisborne, may be one of the biggest. A mean set up in a huge vineyard welcomes bands from all over the world for three days. Music is excellent and the atmosphere is really friendly. Moby, Empire of the sun, Too many DJs, Kora…
