Showcasing British and Irish filmmaking talents alongside International entries, we will be bringing the pick of The Shorties to the big screen. The Shories is a short film competition established to give homegrown surf filmmakers the opportunity to flex their creative muscles on the world stage.
In the gallery we are presenting a show from award winning photographer Mark Leary which celebrates the minutiae of surfing on these shores, and accompanies the launch of his book ‘Salt + Wax at the film festival. We are also hosting Q+A’s with environmentalists, photographers and directors of note. With live music from Matthew P, as well as a hand picked selection of artisans, artists, shapers, makers and doers who will be showing their wares in the Approaching Lines Room it is a surf hoedown with soul.
