DO YOU DREAM IN COLOURS?
Endless Winter – the full film premieres tonight on C4
Endless Winter is a delightful romp around the the United Kingdom in search of the origins of British surfing. It traces the early roots, then hooks up with British surfing pioneers letting them tell in their own words how their scene developed such as PJ, Jock Patterson, Gordon Burgis, Roger Mansfield and Andy Bennetts and many others.
It’s put together around Mitch Corbert and Mark Harris who crisscross the British Isles to meet surfing legends from Scotland to Brighton, Cornwall to Saltburn, the Severn Bore and Wales.
Directors and producers Matt Crocker and James Dean have tracked down some amazing old footage and added a bit of spice in their amusing commentary illustrated by funny cartoons. Some of you may have seen the episodes based on the film that have already aired, but tonight’s showing of the full film has many hidden delights not featured in the series so far. And as the directors say tonight’s full film is how the project was meant to be viewed.
It has been an amazing journey for everyone involved and they have produced a remarkable and well received film. Don’t miss it. This is your heritage.
Endless Winter is on at 12.10am Wednesday 12 on Channel Four. Or watch it on Four OD www.channel4.com/programmes/surfing-special-the-endless-winter
