Enter Sandman, Tony Plant
Tony heads out early morning with his trusty rake and creates awesome sand art before the tide washes it away. It’s stunning, here’s Towan Beach this morning.
Tony has been working outside in the environment for over 20 years, tracing the suns shadow as it tracks across the skies, following tides in and out across sand bars and estuaries, recording the position of moon shadows and painting canvases whilst walking along cliff tops and beaches sometimes in near pitch blackness.
Tony says, “Ephemeral art teaches you about your environment. The art you create within that environment will depend on the season at the time. Eventually the art will decay back into the natural environment echoing the one truth of life, that everything changes.”
Here’s a video of some of Tony’s work;
