Photographer Allan Nadel and SurfGirl contributing writer Rhea Cortado took a trip up the California coastline, seen in the latest issue of SurfGirl magazine!

Here are some more snapshots from their trip starting in Los Angeles all the way to Mendocino, stopping to camp, surf and explore in Jalama Beach, Big Sur, Santa Cruz and San Francisco in between. For his day job, Allan reworks film frames like play-doh as a post-production digital compositor for feature films and commercials.

When it comes to his own photography work, he takes a purist standpoint and gravitates towards vast, desolate, natural landscapes where sense of time evaporates.
