DO YOU DREAM IN COLOURS?
Lauren Hill on the Latest SurfGirl Cover
On the new cover is the lovely Lauren Hill. Lauren is an environmentalist, humanitarian, eco warrior and Rasta’s girlfriend (we’re not jealous at all, really!). We find out about all the cool things she’s involved with at the moment from women’s development organisations to helping Rasta raise awareness of the plight of dolphins and whales. We also talk to saltwater sirens from Cuba to St Ives in Cornwall who are 100% committed to surfing and find out what’s going on in their lives.
Plus there’s heaps of surf tips and advice. We look at how bouncing on a trampoline helps your surfing, get some sunshine inspired recipes from surf nutritionist Rosie Mansfield, and have our surfing problems solved by two coaching experts Kirsty Murphy and Cat Slatinsky. And there’s tips on buying a surfboard and how to get the right one for your ability. Plus a crew of surf girls Sarah Bentley, Holly Donnelly and Alexa Poppe try out some funky retro boards and give us the lowdown.
And as there was a long flat spell when we were putting the mag together, we couldn’t resist the urge to do our own (totally non sexist!) Top 10 Pro Surfer Hot List with your suggested surfers. Plus we publish your poems – beautiful words inspired by the ocean, talk to car park surfers in France, take a look at ocean inspired bohemian fashion and all the things we love about summer!
The new issue is in the newsagents next week, or subscribe and let the postie deliver to your door. Just click here and you can get a beautiful Bells Beach Nalu Bead subscription too.
